How does Amari work?
Amari is a web-based application. When you start your journey, you’ll be prompted to answer a set of questions. You’ll then be presented with a shortlist of suitable therapists based on your unique needs and preferences. Once you select a therapist, you can then book a session online and receive support in a secure and confidential online environment.
Are my sessions confidential?
Yes. No one but you and your therapist will join your sessions unless you opt for a group session according to your agreement with your therapists. Your therapist is bound by the Code of Conduct and Governance framework contained in the HPCSA regulations.
How are therapists selected for Amari?
All therapists on Amari undergo a rigorous vetting process and are registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). They are selected based on their expertise, experience, and unique methodologies to provide tailored support to our clients.
How are therapy sessions conducted on Amari?
Therapy sessions on Amari are conducted online through secure video communication. Users can choose from a variety of therapists, book sessions at a set rate per hour, and engage in therapy from the comfort of their own space.
What happens if I have a specific language preference for therapy?
If you have a specific language preference that is not currently available among our therapists, the default consultation language will be English. We strive to accommodate language needs and are constantly working to expand our language options in the future.
What is the cancellation policy for Amari sessions?
Sessions on Amari are charged at a set rate per hour, and payment is required in advance to honour the therapists' time. If a session is not cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours of the scheduled session date and time, it will not be refunded due to our therapists' commitment and preparation for your session. Is Amari compliant with data protection regulations?
Yes, Amari is compliant with POPIA, HIPAA, GDPR regulations to ensure the protection of your sensitive information. We take great care to safeguard your data given the confidentiality and trust-based nature of the relationship between Amari and its clients.

What payment options are available on Amari?
For your convenience, various payment options are available for you. You can make credit card payments via payfast, a secure and highly reputable payment gateway. If you do not have a credit card, there is an option to make an EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer). Sessions will only be confirmed once the EFT has been reflected in the Amari bank account.
Can I claim from my medical aid?
Yes you can. We do not claim directly from your medical aid at this time but we are working on this to make your experience more convenient. You will receive a paid invoice from us once your session is complete which you can use to claim from your medical aid.
